O.J. Simpson: sprinting down the field, playing with his kids, sitting in a courtroom.

In the two-minute trailer for O.J.: Made in America, these images, along with video of Rodney King's beating, flash across the screen—all set to the chilling sounds of Nina Simone's "Sinnerman" and duo Nina and Frederik's "Oh, Sinner Man."

The upcoming ESPN 30 for 30 documentary series on the former football star who was accused of killing his ex-wife and her friend is "not a film simply focused on the murders or the trial," director Ezra Edelman told Entertainment Weekly

Indeed, the powerful reel alludes to all of what Edelman went on to describe:

"It is a much bigger story, one that explores O.J.'s life and how race and his pursuit of celebrity shaped it … while at the same time documenting the racial dynamics of L.A. and the relationship between its police force and black citizens – a relationship thrust front and center into the discussion of the murders, and one that proved a vital determinant in the outcome of the trial."

ABC audiences can catch the first of five parts in the seven-and-a-half-hour long documentary during its 9 p.m. ET premiere June 11.

ESPN will then air the complete series beginning June 14.
